Cham Tse Ling has been set up with two aims:
Cham Tse Ling follows the Gelugpa tradition, one of the four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism, founded by the great scholar Lama Tsongkhapa in the 14th Century.
The centre offers an ongoing programme of evening and weekend meetings and get togethers to learn and practice meditation; to hear and discuss the Buddhas teachings and to perform devotional Buddhist meditational practice (commonly called pujas). The teachings follow the Gelugpa tradition under the guidance of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
The centre provides a varied programme of activities suited to the experienced and unexperienced practitioner. There are regular meetings in both Preston and Blackpool. Events include study meetings, meditation classes, Pujas and social events! Both groups meet together once a month alternatively in each town. Each year we try to incorporate a couple of retreats into the calendar; also, public events, private functions and visiting teachers. Other events held include One Day Courses, Pujas, Public Talks, Retreats and so on.

THE FUTURE Our ultimate aim is to see the establishment of a residential Tibetan Centre offering a full programme of teachings promoting the study and personal practice of Tibetan Buddhism. At present, we meet at the Multi-Faith Centre in Preston, and other venues in both Preston and Blackpool. Our next step is to increase the study programme, leading to getting a permanent home, whether this be rented office space, rented home or flat. Any ideas, suggestions welcome!
CENTRE SHOP & LIBRARY The centre has a small selection of Buddhist books and Dharma items for sale and we also have a small library for members use.
