His Eminence Namkha Trimed Rinpoche,
Terton (hidden treasure revealer), divination and meditation master.

H.E. Namkha Trimed Rinpoche was born in 1938 in eastern Tibet. From his childhood, he displayed unmistakable qualities of a compassionate bodhisattva(enlightened savior working to benefit others). At the age of eight, he was spiritually guided by Guru Rinpoche. Guru Rinpoche gave him a transmission of several precious teachings and a dakini handed him scrolls written in dakini script proclaiming him as a true terton. Subsequent to these miraculous events, Namkha Drimed Rinpoche was recognized as a terton by two of the most esteemed Tibetan religious leader in the world; H.H. Dudjom Rinpoche, a Tibetan religious leader comparable to the Pope in stature, and by H. H. Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche. The process of recognizing a terton is extensive, requiring much verification to authenticate the treasure revealer’s special gifts.

During the Chinese Communist invasion of Tibet in 1959, he led thousands of Tibetan refugees to safety in India. His Eminence now directs a monastery and Tibetan refugee settlement in Orissa on the east coast of India as well as traveling to the United States to give Buddhist teachings on loving-kindness, joy, wisdom, healing and culture.

Currently, "Rinpoche", a title of endearment which means "Precious One or Teacher" is in the process of restoring Rigon Tashi Choling, his centuries old monastery in eastern Tibet, which was largely destroyed during the Chinese Cultural Revolution in the late 1960’s.

Namkha Drimed Rinpoche is known for his ability to reveal hidden treasures, which in Tibetan Buddhism is called, "Terton." A Terton is one who can reveal sacred hidden teachings. The sacred teachings hidden to be revealed when preordained, critical times in history are arrived at. The teachings are given when they will be of the most benefit. This is his special gift which few teachers authentically have.

He is also renewed as a divination master, performing accurate arrow divinations to answer personal questions. In the arrow divination ceremony, the question must be asked in a "yes" or "no" format. One does not need to be present since questions can be presented to Rinpoche in writing.

Rinpoche may be contacted through either of the two addresses or phone numbers on the main page when not touring in the US, Europe or Asia.
